Ada Pilots Free IT Career Training
ADA, OKLAHOMA – Ada Jobs Foundation (AJF) is partnering with the Center on Rural Innovation (CORI) and Generation USA to offer a free, online “IT Support Specialist” training program for people in in the Ada area, includingresidents of Pontotoc, Garvin, Seminole, Coal, and Johnston Counties. The program will teach learners technical skills, soft skills, and offer the support they need to succeed. Generation USA collaborates with tech companies nation-wide to find out what roles are open. Then, Generation USA creates a learning experience that uses practical, hands-on learning in a fast-paced, online-first format to make learners’ credentials appealing to these employers.
Generation USA staff provides instructional support and career and life coaching during the program, based on students’ needs. After students successfully complete the program, Generation USA, CORI, and Ada Jobs Foundation will assist with the next phase of their career journey by helping them to find full-time employment, internships, apprenticeships, or continuing education. They will also be part of a growing alumni network of graduates.
Ada is excited to be involved in Generation USA’s very first rural cohort model. Students will learn alongside others in the Ada area and three other rural communities across the US. Only 10-15 positions are available for residents in the Ada area, including the counties listed above. Potential learners are encouraged to sign-up quickly if they are interested. Eligibility requirements and details on enrollment can be found at https://usa.generation.org/ada-oklahoma, and enrollees must be over 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED to qualify. The Ada Jobs Foundation can also assist students in finding a location to participate in the program with access to computers and an internet connection through area schools and libraries.

Program Details: 12 Weeks – Monday – Friday, 9AM-5PM – Fully Online
