Ada Jobs Announces Finalists: The Big Pitch Ada Competition

November 2, 2020 by kylernixon

ADA, OKLAHOMA– The Ada Jobs Foundation (AJF)  is proud to announce the top six entrants for The Big Pitch Ada competition taking place virtually on November 12.

The Big Pitch Ada is an entrepreneurial pitch competition focused on creating an opportunity for people to pitch a new business idea, service, or product line. Those who pitch will have an opportunity to be awarded money and expert feedback based on the quality of their presentation and overall business concept. This is the third year that the competition has been offered, and the format will allow for companies to pitch in two categories: a category for concept-stage ideas for a potential business, and a category for early stage businesses or product lines.
The finalists for the Big Pitch Ada were selected by the Ada Jobs Foundation from a pool of applicants from across the state of Oklahoma. The following entrants representing different products and business ideas were selected for the opportunity to pitch their idea and connect with investors:
Idea-stage Category
* Anthony Foreman, Punchin’ Trees Woodshop
* Fredeshia Neely, WeCare&Co.
* Naresh Juneja, Breathify USA
Revenue-generating Category
* Cody Tucker, Convey640
* Jamie David, Hidden Stars of Theatre
* Lynsey Bonner, Expiration Ninja
These finalists will present to a live audience and panel of judges consisting of industry experts. They will have five minutes to make their pitch and this pitch will be followed by a question period from the judges.  Winners will be announced at the event and will receive a cash prize to help develop their concept or business. The cash awards are made possible by local and regional sponsors, and they include LegalShield, REI Oklahoma, First United Bank of Ada, Pontotoc Technology Center, and Citizens Bank of Ada.
Prizes presented during the event include:
  • 1st Place Revenue Generating Category Pitch Winner – $1,000
  •  2nd Place Revenue Generating Category Pitch Winner – $250
  •  1st Place Idea-Stage Category Pitch Winner – $500
  •  2nd Place Idea-Stage Category Pitch Winner – $250
  •  People’s Choice Award Winner – $250
“Through this event we are encouraging entrepreneurship and early-stage businesses that are helping to grow our regional entrepreneurship ecosystem,” shared Srijita Ghosh, AJF Entrepreneurship Specialist. “We hope that by the event being hosted virtually, an even larger audience is able to join us, to support those pitching their business, and to talk about growing entrepreneurship and innovation in Oklahoma.”

Those interested in hearing the pitches and encouraging entrepreneurship are invited to join the event virtually, and virtual audience members can also participate in the People’s Choice award poll.   The Big Pitch Ada competition will take place on Thursday, November 12th with Live Pitches taking place at 2:30 pm, People’s Choice Award polling at 4:15 pm, and announcement of winners at 4:30 pm.
